Experiencing Rio CarnivalThere is a lot to do during the Rio Carnival, from parades, street parties, balls, to free concerts. Visitors will get to see some of the flashiest costumes on display during the festivities. The scale of the festivities is hard to imagine till you find yourself in the midst of all that loud chaos. The highlight of the Carnival is the Samba Parade. Visitors must make their way in a crowd of thousands to see the city’s 12 best samba schools display their artistic excellence. Several prestigious balls (ranging from formal black tie to costumed) with live music and dancing are held in upscale hotels and theaters.
