Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (trading as THAI) is the flag carrier airline of
Thailand. This nearly 30 year old national airline is headquartered in Bangkok and centrally operates from hub at Suvarnabhumi Airport in the city. Thai Airways flies to 80 destinations (or 84 including those of its subsidiary, Thai Smile) in 37 countries, and uses a fleet of more than 90 aircraft. Its focus cities are Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Seoul-Incheon. The airline offers scheduled flights to Europe, East Asia, Oceania and South or Southwest Asia. Thai Airways International was the first Asia-Pacific airline to serve London Heathrow Airport and now has one of the largest passenger operations in Europe among all Asia-Pacific carriers. Its frequent-flyer program is called Royal Orchid Plus.
Classes of ServiceThai Airways International offers three classes of service- Royal First Class, Royal Silk Class and Economy Class.
Economy ClassEconomy Class offers you a standard experience of Thai Airways without making traveler break a bank. It is loaded with services and offerings that are sure to delight travelers.
- The Economy Class offers spacious exclusive cabin, impeccable service and award-winning cuisine.
- This class offers an extensive ‘Media Library’ with a vast selection of movies and a wealth of selected songs from the personal in-seat touch screen monitor of each seat.
- Economy Class offers a choice of main course and is accompanied by fresh salad, bread and fresh fruit or dessert. Other attractions include wine, spirit, juice and hot and cold beverages that are served with meals. Travelers may also specify their specific dietary requirements.
Royal Silk Class- Travelers are welcomed with traditional drink ‘Violet Breeze,’ which is a blend of chilled lime juice and pressed Thai butterfly-pea blossoms. They may also choose from chilled champagne or a fresh tropical juice.
- Travelers get 180-degree fully flat bed-cum-seats that allow an optimum balance of head, back, leg angle and lumber support.
- Dining begins with appetizers and a light first course, a fresh salad and may include a house-made terrine on most regional and intercontinental flights. This is followed by a selection of cheese with fruits and a dessert and ends with a coffee or tea. A selection of beverages, including handpicked wine, fine spirits, soft drink and juice may also reserved.
- Travelers can choose from up to 100 music CDs, movies and TV channels on demand on 15 or 16 inch flat screens. PC power points are also available at all seats along with USB ports for all kinds of other devices.
- Travelers may also avail THAI Sky Connect, an in-flight Wi-Fi service that allows internet access on their laptops and smartphones.
Royal First Class- Travelers are offered full body oil massage and Thai style massage at the Royal First Lounge in Suwarnbhumi Airport.
- This premier class has 8 feet long elegantly designed cabins with 23 or 27 inch wide seats. This class is designed in Thai style offering traditional Thai ambience. The travelers are welcomed with fine champagne and silken caviar, and are offered a choice of soups, salads and cheeses paired with delicious fruits and luscious desserts. This is followed by handpicked wine, fine spirits, and aged cognac.
- Travelers can relax in fully flat bed in designer cabins decorated with Thai motifs and artistic interiors.
- This class has a 23 inch wide screen monitor for watching movies and TV programs.
- Travelers may also avail THAI Sky Connect, an in-flight Wi-Fi service that allows internet access on their laptops and smartphones.
- Selected aircraft models offer luxury pod designs equipped with 180-degree fully flat beds at almost 7 feet of private space between each Royal First seat. Each seat has a generous minimum width of 21 inches.
