National Archaeological Museum
The National Archaeological Museum is one of the most significant museum in the world and the largest in Greece. The museum was established with the aim to secure the 19th century excavations (from the Attica region & other parts of the country). At present findings from different era of Greek history are housed here. The collection of the museum comprises more than 11,000 exhibits. Through its elaborate collection it becomes easy for visitors to have an inside view of the Greek Civilization starting from the prehistoric age. The building is a neoclassical structure built during the late 19th century.
Museum of Cycladic Art
In January 1986, the Museum of Cycladic Art opened its doors for the public and today it has become a living institution in Athens.
