Located about 20 minutes drive from Hora, Potamos is a major commercial center for Kythira Island. In addition, the village is excellent for a day outing, especially if you like old well-preserved architectures. Here, you can check out a Byzantine Church, Church of Virgin Mary, and the churches of Agios Ioannis, Agia Anastasia and the Saviour.
About 12 miles north of Kythira is located the village of Agia Pelagia. The village is famed for Agia Sofia cave displaying superb stalagmites and stalactites. Three picturesque beaches Lorentso, Lagada and Firi Ammos attract many vacationers. The village also offers a range of shops, restaurants and hotels.
Just 10 minutes drive south of Kythira, Livadi is an excellent daytrip destination. The major attraction in Livadi is the 17th-century stone bridge with 13 arches. You can also explore the Byzantine Museum of Kythira featuring fabulous religious paintings and murals from the early-Christian to the post-Byzantine days.
