Vielle Ville (or Old Town)

Located on the foothills of the Castle Hill, the Vieille Ville or Old Town is one of the most vibrant and colorful parts of Nice. It is a centuries old maze of narrow alleyways and cobblestone streets signed-off with a strong Italian designing accent visible in all houses. The Vieille Ville is home to the daily flower and fruit market of the Cours Saleya and this quaint and colorful neighborhood is flanked by two art galleries called Galerie des Ponchettes (Musee Dufy) and Musee Alexis et Gustav-Adolf Mossa.

Promenade des Anglais (or the Walkway of the English)

The Promenade des Anglais (or the Walkway of the English) is a promenade along the Mediterranean in Nice, France. It was built in late 1850s as a winter relaxation spot for the English aristocracy. This iconic seaside promenade is dotted with some of the city’s best architectural marvels and natural attractions, none more famous than the beaches themselves. Most of the city’s beaches are found alongside the Promenade des Anglais’s 4.3 mile long stretch. Other attractions here are the Museum of Asian Arts, a nine-storied Art-Deco luxury hotel of 1930s called Palais de la Mediterranee, a 5-star hotel called Hotel Negresco and the iron superstructure La Chaise de SAB.

Colline du Chateau (or Castle Hill)

The Colline du Chateau stands overlooking the coastal city of Nice and its beautiful beach of Baie des Anges. It was first inhabited by the Greeks about 2000 years ago and was largely considered invincible until it was razed in 1706. This iconic castle is mostly in ruins now but that shouldn’t deter a curious visitor from visiting it and climbing its stairs for a magnificent 360 degree view of the city below. The Castle Hill is flanked by trees, waterfalls and two old churches and thus is a hot cake among the selfie lovers around the year.

Musee Matisse (or Matisse Museum)

Opened in 1963, the Matisse Museum in Nice is home to one of the world's largest collections of artworks by French painter Henri Matisse. It is located in a nearly 350-year old Neo-Classical villa called the Villa des Arenes and is surrounded by Italianate gardens from three sides. The Matisse Museum now consists of 68 paintings and gouaches, 236 drawings, 218 prints, 95 photos, 57 sculptures and 14 books- all authored by Matisse. This remarkable collection is seconded by his Matisse’s personal belongings, and several other prints, tapestries, ceramics, stained glass, and documents.
