Cambridge Bay is a hamlet located on Victoria Island in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut, Canada. It is located close to the Ekalluk River, which is famous for a cold water fish known as giant char. It has been inhabited for last 4000 years and has a profound archaeological history and cultural identity. Encompassing both marine and terrestrial regions in Arctic Circle coastline, the Queen Maud Gulf Migratory Bird Sanctuary is Canada's largest federally owned protected area. It consists of numerous streams, ponds and shallow lakes and vast stretches of Arctic lowlands. This bird sanctuary is home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of Ross geese and is a must-visit attraction for avid bird watchers.

Ovayok Territorial Park
Ovayok Territorial Park is your go-to point for hiking and admiring nature’s beauty amidst scenic landscapes and assorted wildlife. It is at its glorious best during the summers when the visibility is maxed out and tundra region is full of beautiful flowers, birds (like ducks, geese and swans) and animals (like caribou, seals and muskoxen).

Arctic Coast Visitor Centre
Life in the Arctic’s frigid zones is quite an experience in itself and you can get an extensive insight into the same by visiting Arctic Coast Visitor Centre in Cambridge Bay. Ahead of some information on local flora and fauna that’s freely available here, you would find extensive displays of historical souvenirs and locally produced crafts (like beadwork and wall hangings) here that would tell you a lot about the local history and culture. The visitor center organizes film and cultural workshop evenings at selected times during the year.
