Cheap Dubrovnik Vacation Packages

Dubrovnik is a walled city on the Adriatic Sea coast in Croatia. Nicknamed the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic,’ it is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea. The city that we see today is a direct derivative of its golden days during 15th and 16th centuries, when Dubrovnik was a prominent center of the development of the Croatian language and architecture.
Places of Interest in Dubrovnik
City Walls
It would take you an hour to walk this two kilometer long wall and to enjoy walk around the old town for some unforgettable great views like the 14th century old fortresses Fort Minceta and Fort Saint John on the south-eastern side. The former is considered an epitome of Dubrovnik defense system and also a prominent cultural attraction while the latter houses the Maritime Museum and an aquarium.
Zvjezdan (Fort Bokar)
Zvjezdan is a stellar combination of beauty and strength. This six centuries old fortress was built simultaneously with the reconstruction of the City Walls. As the most significant part of the western entrance of the city, it is also the oldest casemented fortress in Europe and is known for its engravings and cannons.
Island of Lokrum
The one thousand year old island of Lokrum is located less than half a mile away from the Dubrovnik. The Austrian archduke Maximilian came for a holiday here in 1859 and had planted more than a hundred plants here, which have now grown into a botanical garden. On the island's highest point stands Fort Royal Castle that was built by the French but was later christened as ‘Maximilian's Tower’ by the Austrians.
