National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum (or the Navy SEAL Museum)

The UDT-SEAL is an acronym for Underwater Demolition Teams and Sea, Air and Land. It is the name of one of the world’s most decorated and famous commando forces. The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum near Fort Pierce is the world’s only museum dedicated to the navy SEALS. It is home to a wide range of jaw-dropping exhibits related to this commando force and centrally admired for the UDT-SEAL Memorial, which is the only memorial dedicated to the United States Navy SEALs and their predecessors.

AE Backus Museum & Gallery

The AE Backus Museum & Gallery in Fort Pierce is home to the world’s largest collection of paintings made by AE Backus (1906-90), a famous Floridian artist. He is best known for his series of backwoods paintings and landscapes paintings that depict Floridian landscapes. Heathcote Botanical Gardens

The Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce are home to a stunning combination of native and exotic flora from around the world. It is deliberately located between a warm-temperate zone and a subtropical zone in Fort Pierce. The garden consists of a several sections including a Japanese garden, the Herb Garden, Rainforest Display, Native Plants Garden and a Palm and Cycad Walk. Some star attractions here include a 25-year-old bougainvillea and the country’s largest public collection of tropical Bonsai trees.

St. Lucie County Aquarium

St. Lucie County Aquarium is a 5000 square foot facility featuring a wide range of marine ecosystems spread across six aquarium displays and touch tanks. These aquariums relate to six different Florida marine habitats. The largest aquarium here depicts a Caribbean coral reef, and is supplemented by living models of sea grass, mangrove and estuarine habitats besides a deepwater Oculina coral reef.
