Gothenburg Museum of Art
Holding a unique collection of Nordic Art, Gothenburg Museum of Art boasts three stars in the Michelin Green Guide to Scandinavia. The collection in museum is regarded as one of the finest collections in Northern Europe. These exhibits include works by Carl Larsson, Rembrandt, Andres Zorn, Edward Munch, Chagall, Picasso, Monet, and many more. The photo exhibitions at the Hasselblad Center are worth exploring. At next door, there are the City Theater and Concert Hall. Hasselblad Prize-winners annual exhibition is one of the highlights of the museum. Gothenburg Museum of Art also hosts an assortment of permanent and temporary exhibitions, lectures, family activities, guided tours, workshops, a cafe, and a shop.
Liseberg Amusement Park
An excellent place to visit with family, Liseberg Amusement Park offers thrilling rides, rollercoaster, and regular concerts. In Christmas, the park hosts a terrific market. There are about 40 different attractions and rides such as the award winning wooden roller coaster Balder and AtmosFear, which is the tallest free fall ride in Europe. Tourists can enjoy terrific views of the city on the Liseberg Big Wheel.
Alvsborg Fortress
Arguably the best-preserved fortress in the country, Alvsborg Fortress is known for holding back the Danes during the 1717-19 war. It is also one of the most famous boat excursions in the city. On the island, there is a small handicraft shop, beautiful surroundings, winding paths, and a cafe. The trip incorporates a dramatized historical guided tour, which is informative and is a great fun as well.
