Texas Thunder Speedway
A quarter mile of dirt track, Texas Thunder Speedway features seven classes of race cars thundering along. The speedway is located just outside of downtown Killeen, on West Stan Schlueter Loop, in proximity to the Fort Hood Army Base. Texas Thunder Speedway boasts a potpourri of races incorporating demolition derbies, standard races, street races, and holiday-themed races. At the speedway, races are held on Saturday nights from March through September.
Mayborn Planetarium and Space Theater
Located on Central Texas College's campus, Mayborn Planetarium and Space Theater offers star-gazing and laser light shows under its spectacular, 60-foot dome. Laser light shows blend sound, light and color with three-dimensional graphics to bring music to life. The shows at this planetarium provide education in addition to a superb visual show. Mayborn Planetarium and Space Theater is open to schools and other groups for private presentations during the week. The planetarium is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays.
Bowling Alleys
Killeen boasts two bowling alleys to pick from. Hallmark Lanes is located on Shawn Drive and offers 24 bowling lanes and snack bar, lounge, video game room and a pro shop. Other outsanding bowling alley, Killeen Bowlerama is located on 38th Street and offers space for private parties.
Bell County Expo Center
Hosting 200 events all through the year including music, dog shows, rodeos, motocross, and private events, Bell County Expo Center is located at the junction of U.S. Highway 190 and Interstate 35. This expo center has a main arena and a number of smaller rooms for private functions.
