Cheap Paphos Vacation Packages

A coastal city in the southwest of Cyprus, Paphos is the capital of Paphos district. The city is a vacation favorite among the tourists in Cyprus. For most of the tourists, Paphos is all about sea, but despite being a popular seaside resort, it also boasts a bunch of great historical attractions. The city is divided in two parts: Kato Paphos featuring several archaeological sites and Ktima replete with the museums. Summer is the best time to visit this city.
Places of Interest in Paphos
House of Dionysus
One of the top tourist attractions in Paphos, House of Dionysus boasts the mosaic pavements that are among the finest to be found in the Mediterranean. The mosaic artwork found here is well-preserved. At the back of the house, there is one of the famed mosaics showcasing a Ganymede being taken back to Olympus by an eagle. In one of the mosaics, there is a depiction of the triumph of Dionysos with God in a chariot drawn by leopards.
The Odeon
Located near the harbor area, the Odeon is one of the well-preserved remnants from city's Roman period. This small theater is still used for summer music festivals and features 12 rows of seating. Located next to the Odeon are a contemporary lighthouse and a rocky mound that, as per the local belief, was once the Acropolis of the town.
Tombs of the Kings
Listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Tombs of the Kings are the imposing underground tombs dating back to the 4th century BC. These tombs are carved out of solid rock and are decorated with Doric pillars. All of the tombs at the site exhibit a distinct Egyptian influence. Tombs of the Kings were the burial ground for ancient Paphos at the time of Roman and Greek eras and perhaps were used for high rank officials.
