Traverse City is a city in the US state of Michigan. The Music House Museum
Founded in 1983, the Music House Museum has a one-of-a-kind collection of rare antique musical instruments and music-making machines from 1870 to 1950. The museum’s collection ranges from simple music boxes to some early recorded sounds. The visitors are taken through a journey back in time through a 90 minute guided tour that tells more about the history, artistry, and engineering of musical instruments exhibited there.
Mission Point Light
Mission Point Light is a nineteenth century lighthouse and is located less than twenty miles away from Traverse City. It was built in 1870 AD to look like a replica of the Mama Juda Light that was built on the Detroit River few years ago. Standing halfway between the North Pole and the Equator, the Mission Point Light offers a visit to its top from where you can get a panoramic view of the nearby trails and local birdlife. Also, located about four miles away from here is a premier place for sea kayaking - the Old Mission Peninsula.
National Cherry Festival
National Cherry Festival is a week-long celebration in July. This ninety year old festival celebrates and promotes the city-grown cherries and local tourism. People come here for tasting various delicacies made of cherries and this practice is followed by a cherry pancake breakfast and a cherry buffet lunch. Some local sports tournaments like Cherryopoly tournament, golf contest, beach volleyball tournament, sand sculpture contest, skateboarding tournament also form the order of the day with regular parades and fireworks.
