Grote Markt
Grote Markt in Belgium refers to the main town square of the city. The 13th century square was the site of trade between English merchants and Italians, Germans and Spaniards. Similar to the one in Brussels, Antwerp’s Grote Markt is flanked by the elegant city hall, 16th century guildhalls and several eateries. The square is the venue for a Christmas Market and an ice rink during winters. The popular 19th century Brabo Fountain is also found here.
