Located inside the university campus, the National Ethnographic Museum may not be big in size but features a comprehensive collection of exhibits related to regional spiritual beliefs. It also has a collection of statues, baskets, wooden masks and costumes from Bissau-Guinean.
Devastated during the civil war, the Presidential Palace features shrapnel in its once elegant neo-classical facade. The palace is still standing to tell the story of war days and renovation is on the cards.
Formerly the colonial center of Portuguese, Bissau Velho is an excellent place to relax or have a pleasant walk. Watch out for the prison with pink flowers colored at the end of the fort overlooking the harbor.
