Alamo

San Antonio’s numero uno attraction, the Alamo is one of the most important historical sites in the United States. It was a part of an early 18 ^th century Spanish mission station whose church was later built by the Franciscans in 1744. It was the site of the iconic battle of Battle of the Alamo in 1836 in which a hopelessly outnumbered force of US soldiers stood against a wave of Mexican army and met their glorious end. This battle later culminated in the independence of Texas from Mexicans a few years later.

The River Walk is one of the most important attritions in the San Antonio, so much so that the city is nicknamed ‘The River City.’ The River Walk is home to quaint stone walkways, scenic and calm surroundings, old bridges, and numerous restaurants and cafes that stand along the riverside of the San Antonio River. San Antonio Missions

Designated the state’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, the five San Antonio Missions we reall built in early 18^th century by the Spanish exploders to colonize the region. The most famous among them is the Alamo or Mission Valero that saw a gruesome battle between the defending Americans and invading Mexican forces. Other famous missions here are Mission San Jose, Mission Concepción and Mission San Juan.
