ambitious urban renewal projects undertaken by the state government and
runs for a length of nearly 1.5 miles. The boardwalk is dotted with South
America’s first IMAX theatre and many historical sites, museums, gardens,
fountains, and restaurants, bars and food courts.
Museo Antropologico y de Arte Contemporaneo (or Anthropology and
Contemporary Art Museum)
The Anthropology and Contemporary Art Museum is a treat for all those
visitors who are interested in knowing more about the evolution of art in
Guayaquil. It comprises 50000 native Ecuadorian archaeological pieces and
over 3000 modern works of art related to Ecuadorian, Latin American and
Pre-Columbian cultural styles. The art museum is an integral part of the
Malecón 2000 riverwalk.
La Perla
La Perla is a 56-meter-high Ferris wheel located in Guayaquil. Built at an
astronomical cost of USD 4.5 million dollars, this attraction is also an
important part of the riverside promenade called Malecon 2000.
