The Yellowstone Art Museum is the largest contemporary art museum and the numero uno attraction in the state of Montana. The museum’s crowning glory is shared by the Virginia Snook Collection, the estate of Isabelle Johnson and hundreds of Poindexter artworks of New York Abstract Expressionism.
Pictograph Cave
Pictograph Cave is a group of three caves that were excavated near Billings in 1937. The famous trio is home to several artifacts, out of which more than 30000 artifacts have been identified. The largest of these caves is home to some paintings (called pictographs) that depict local animals and Native American warriors, and are thought to be between 200 and 2100 years old.
Moss Mansion
Moss Mansion is 114 year old red sandstone manor in Billings. Its 28 rooms are all characterized by posh decoration inclusive of wood paneling, walls with gold threading, marble fireplaces, and vintage intercom system.
