You should visit it for the city’s first municipal art gallery, some beautiful gardens, historical artifacts (that date back to sixth century) and most importantly, a bronze statue of Robin Hood.
Sherwood Forest
Sherwood Forest is a natural reserve that attracts almost a million tourists every year. Central to the reputation of this iconic forest is the Major Oak, a thousand years old oak tree that is famous as the legendary hideout of Robin Hood and his band of outlaws. This place is at its best during sunny mornings and should be explored by walking or cycling. Another prominent attraction here is the thirty year old Robin Hood Festival. Please note that entry here is free.
