Founded in 1979, the March Field Air Museum is an aviation museum situated adjacent to March Air Reserve Base near Riverside. It is home to a jaw-dropping collection of about 80 aircraft, some vintage jet engines, a flight simulator and replicas of a German 30mm cannon. Some star attractions here include a prototype of Lockheed P-38L Lightning (the original had first taken off in 1939), a Boeing B-29 Superfortress (famous for its 11 combat missions during the Second World War) and SR-71 Blackbird (the world’s fastest air-breathing manned aircraft).
California Citrus State Historic Park
Riverside’s California Citrus State Historic Park is an open-air museum that glorifies the city’s 145 year old citrus industry.
