Spokane Falls

The falls are separated into two portions- the Upper Falls is the site of the Upper Falls Dam constructed in 1920 whereas the Lower Falls features the Monroe Street Dam, constructed in 1980 for generating hydroelectricity for Spokane.

Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture
Located on West First Avenue in the Browne's Addition neighborhood of Spokane, Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture is a museum with collection of art and artifacts linked to the history of the local area, Native American Indian culture, and several other cultures and works of fine art. The museum is locally known as MAC and boasts an auditorium, five underground galleries, an outdoor amphitheater, an education center, and a store and cafe. Formerly the museum was known as the Cheney Cowles Museum. Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture also features Joel E. Ferris Research Archives containing photographs, maps, books, and more.
