Cheap Winnipeg Vacation Packages

Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba and a major part of the Canadian Prairies. The city lies at the scenic and historic confluence of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers, and is famous as the crossroads of water routes by aboriginal peoples many centuries ago. Fast forward to 2016 AD and you will find Winnipeg as a heartthrob of culture, music, opera, architecture and commerce, besides a host of many tourist attractions that would leave you mesmerized forever and three days.
Places of Interest in Winnipeg
Canadian Museum for Human Rights
Quite unlike any other museum that you might have ever visited, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a national museum in Winnipeg that seeks to explore the scope of human rights in Canada and to enhance their common understanding among the masses through stories and related methods.
Manitoba Legislative Building
The Manitoba Legislative Building is the meeting place of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in central Winnipeg. As an exquisite work of Tyndall Stone and Italian marbles, this 253 ft tall state of the art neoclassical building was completed in 1920 AD. Central to its attraction is the iconic Golden Boy, a gold-plated bronze statue that stands atop the domed ceiling in the form of the Roman god Mercury and gives it a majestic appearance.
Saint Boniface Cathedral
Founded in 1818 AD, the St. Boniface Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in western Canada. It is a masterpiece of French Romanesque architecture and was remade in 1968 AD after a fire had destroyed most of its beauty. St. Boniface Cathedral is located in a cemetery which is also western Canada's oldest Catholic burial ground. Also of note is the St. Boniface Museum, which is the oldest building in Winnipeg. It is located close to Saint Boniface Cathedral and was constructed in 1846 AD as a convent, hospital and orphanage.
