A city in Volusia County in the US state of Florida, Daytona Beach is located at a distance of around 51 miles northeast of Orlando. It is a principal city of the Fun Coast region of the state. The city is historically famous for its beautiful beach where hard sand allows motorized vehicles to drive on the beach. Daytona Beach is home to lovely stretch of white sandy beach and a plethora of other tourist attractions. The city hosts various events, notably the Speedweeks, held in early February when more than 200,000 NASCAR fans throng to enjoy the season-opening Daytona 500 is a famous motor race held annually.
Daytona Beach BoardwalkSimply called as Boardwalk, Daytona Beach Boardwalk is located on North Ocean Avenue in Daytona Beach. It is lined with a number of shops, bars, restaurants, hotels, and the City Walk shopping and entertainment complex. Daytona Beach Boardwalk also boasts arcades with games, indoor and outdoor recreational rides such as a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, and many more. In addition, free concerts also take place at Daytona Beach Boardwalk during summers.
Museum of Arts and SciencesOne of the largest museums in central Florida, Museum of Arts and Sciences boasts more than 30,000 objects on display. Some of its exhibits include displays related to Florida history, Early American art and furniture, Chinese art, Cuban art, and an immense collection of Americana including two private train cars, teddy bears, quilts, and numerous other pieces of memorabilia. The museum also offers a plethora of educational outreach programs such as summer camps and group tours. In addition, Museum of Arts and Sciences also features an auditorium and a planetarium.
The BeachDaytona has a 23-mile long stretch of lovely beach which is the prime attraction of the city. This beach is famous for its hard-packed sand allowing cars to drive in certain areas of the beach. The beach is known for boasting beachfront parks with boardwalks, picnic areas, restrooms, and pavilions. Some of the popular beachfront parks include the Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park, the Smyrna Dunes Park, and the Lighthouse Point Park.
