Eagle River is a city in and county seat of Vilas County, Wisconsin, United States. It is nicknamed the ‘Snowmobile Capital of the World’ because it has been hosting the World Championship Snowmobile Derby for over 50 years now. Eagle River is home to a number of lakes, seasonal vacation homes and hunting cabins- a factor that makes it a popular vacation and retirement destination in the US. It is also an alpha spot of fishing, boating, hiking, biking and swimming during summer season and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter season.
Eagle River StadiumThe Eagle River Stadium is the first indoor hockey arena built in the state of Wisconsin. It was designed by German immigrant architect and engineer Max Hanisch, Sr. Its roof pertains to honeycomb pattern while the overall appearance of the stadium resembles a dome.
Wisconsin Hockey Hall of FameFounded in 1975, the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame in the aforementioned Eagle River Stadium is a proud remembrance of noted ice hockey players in Wisconsin. Some of the noted sportspersons that were inducted in this hall include Jeff Sauer, Craig Ludwig, Mark Johnson, Bob Suter and John Mayasich.
