Alaska. The city is spread in an area of around 37.24 sq. miles. Holy Cross
is in interior Alaska on the west bank of Ghost Creek Slough off the Yukon
River. The city first came into European contact in the early 1840s when
the Russian explorers traveled the Yukon River. Holy Cross is named after
the Christian missionary started by Ingalik Indians.
