Milford is a city in Beaver County in the US state of Utah. Though the
settlers had established ranches here in 1870's, the city was developed
until after the construction of Los Angeles, San Pedro, and Salt Lake
Railroad in 1880. Milford is in the east-central part of the county in the
Escalante Desert, which is a basin between Star Mountain Range to the west
and the Mineral Mountains to the east.

Frisco Ghost Town & Cemetery
Frisco Ghost Town & Cemetery is located at the base of the San
Francisco Mountains. It is the remnant of the Frisco mining town. This
mining town was founded in 1875 after the discovery of pure Silver, and the
discovery sprang up in a matter of weeks and became one of the west’s
toughest mining camp. Murders were a daily occurrence in the mining town
and history claims that an average of 12 men per night were killed.
Rock Corral Recreation Area
Rock Corral Recreation Area is located on the west side of the Mineral
Mountain Range. The imposing granite peaks tower from the desert floor and
enormous standing rocks with Granite Peak are the most popular feature in
the area.
Smokey Quartz and Fledspar Crystals
Mineral Mountains make up the largest exposed plutonic body in Utah. Rock
compositions in the area array from granite around Rock Corral Canyon in
the south to quartz monzonite in the northern half of the pluton.
