Hyderabad is the capital of the state of Telangana and de jure capital of Andhra Pradesh in India. Established in late 16th century along Musi River, the city became popular as a pearl and diamond trading centre. It is a seamless mix of India’s northern and southern cultures that have emerged as a result of last 400 years, and their cumulative effect is seen in the city’s arts, architecture, culture and culinary arts. The architecture is a delightful showcase of Indo-Islamic and Persian architectural styles that have graciously assumed some signatures of Medieval, Mughal, and European styles too. You should take out time to visit the late 16th century highlight known as the Charminar. It was built by king Quli Qutub Shah as a votive to ward off an epidemic in 1591 AD. It has four 48.7 meter high minarets that together encase 45 prayer spaces and a mosque. One of the minarets also has a Hindu temple at its base. Also of note is the 17th century Golconda Fort that has a spread of over 10 kilometers and has 87 semicircular bastions, eight gateways, and four drawbridges plus several royal apartments and halls, temples, mosques, magazines and stables.

Had to take a last-minute trip due to a death in the family. Everything was extremely crazy because of so many last-minute arrangements. But thank God for pointing me to "onetravel.com".
