Newark Museum
Founded in 1909, Newark Museum is the largest museum in the state of New
Jersey. It is home to 80 world-class galleries filled with displays of art
and science, and 6 galleries that depict decorative household items that
date back to 1650s. The Museum also has a miniature zoo, a planetarium, an
auditorium, a sculpture garden, and a restored late 19th century
mansion full of luxurious Victorian-era products.
Branch Brook Park
The Branch Brook Park in Newark is a county park that is home to more than
4000 cherry trees that are laden with blossoms in the spring season every
year. It is home to the largest collection of Japanese flowering trees in
the United States. The park also hosts the annual Cherry Blossom Festival
during the same period.
