Honolulu is the capital and largest city of the state of Hawaii in the
United States. It is the most remote city of its size in the world and is
the main gateway through sea to Hawaii and the United States. Honolulu had
played a major role in the Second World War and is ever since home to
several strategically-significant military defense zones of the United
States Army. However, for those interested in beaches and Caribbean music
and typical seafood culture, Honolulu is just about the best place in the
word to start with. Sea lovers often come here and get enchanted with its
beautiful crescent-shaped beaches. Also, of note here are the remnants of
Pearl Harbor that was destroyed by Imperial Japanese Air force in the
Second World war.
Things to do in Honolulu
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor is a historic and strategically significant lagoon harbor of
the US Navy that is located about 10 miles away from Honolulu. It was blown
to smithereens by Imperial Japanese bombers and fighter airplanes in the
Second World War on December 7, 1941. It is the single-most significant
reminder of US’s direct entry into the Second World War. The Pearl Harbor
is best identified with a few memorials and a symbolic remnant of a nearly
sunken warship.
Waikiki Beach
For those interested in a sunny beach, Waikiki is a district of the city of
Honolulu and home to a beautiful crescent-shaped beach called Waikiki
Beach. Waikiki first appeared on the world map as a summer and winter
getaway location for the rich and famous of the Hawaiian kingdom in 19 th century. Also, of note in or near here are a prehistoric
volcanic crater (Diamond Head Crater) and one of the country’s oldest
aquariums called the Waikiki Aquarium.
Sea Life Park Hawaii
If you are fond of underwater snorkeling, Sea Life Park Hawaii is where you
should be headed for next in Hawaii. This 50-year-old park is a
state-of-the-art tourist attraction that combines a marine mammal park, a
bird sanctuary and an aquarium that is located 17 miles away from Honolulu.
You should come here to swim with dolphins, feed sea turtles or take a sea

Best Time to visit Honolulu
Winter and early summer seasons (the months from December to April) are the
best to book your flights from Denver to Honolulu. It is the season when
the city is full of sports events like the Aloha Bowl (in December) and NFL
Pro Bowl (in January). Book your flights from DEN to HNL during summer
season because this time of the year comes with maximum daylight that can
be translated to visit all the attractions in the city. It is advised to
book Honolulu flights in advance to avoid paying more during peak season.
