Memphis is a city located along the Mississippi River in the state of
Tennessee in the US. It was co-founded in 1819 by Andrew Jackson who would
later become the country's seventh President. The city is known as the home

Graceland
The Graceland is the former personal estate of music icon Elvis Presley and
the numero uno in the highlight in the city for all Rock n' Roll
enthusiasts. Spanning 14 acres, it was purchased by Elvis in 1957 and
features his former home, personal belongings and his tomb. Graceland is
flanked at some distance by another building that houses his favorite cars
and two airplanes.
Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum
The Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum is a famous Smithsonian institute that
focuses on the history of music in Memphis from the 1930s to the 1970s. It
features 7 galleries that showcase costumes, musical instruments, early
days of the city and clippings of rural music. All these galleries feature
a guided digital audio tour.
National Civil Rights Museum
The National Civil Rights Museum is housed in the infamous Lorraine Motel
where Martin Luther King Jr. was shot dead in 1968. The museum is home to a
remarkable display of various interactive displays, documents and artefacts
related to the history of Civil Rights Movement. An impossible to miss
attraction here is the hotel room and balcony on which King was shot dead.
