this riverside monastery was built to celebrate Vasco da Gama's epic voyage
to India in 1498 and the ensuing ‘Age of Discovery’ that brought a lot of
wealth into Portugal.
Lisbon Oceanarium
The Lisbon Oceanarium is one of Europe's finest aquariums and one of the
largest in the world. Built for the Expo 98 World Exposition, the
oceanarium features a remarkable display of fish, marine species, and
birds. The fish and marine organisms are arranged in theme-based displays
related to their respective habitats like the Atlantic, the Pacific,
Indian, and Antarctic oceans.
