Portland is the largest city in the state of Oregon and the seat of
Multnomah County in the US. It is a major port in the Willamette Valley
region of the Pacific Northwest and is located at the confluence of the
Willamette and Columbia rivers. Portland was infamous as one of the most
dangerous port cities in the world during early 20th century but
later switched sides to become a frontrunner of an industrial boom during
and post the Second World War. The city has its own charms of architectural
marvels and historical monuments, but you should consider visiting it for
its extensive artistic culture. This dimension includes its performing arts
and music venues. Also, of note here is its tradition of brewing top-class
beers and its immensely popular beer festivals.

Washington Park
The Washington Park is a scenic park in Portland. It was purchased as a
one-time wild land purchased by the city in 1871 and was subsequently
developed and beautified. Visitors are often wowed with its two gardens-
the Rose Test Garden and the Portland Japanese Garden, the latter is one of
the largest gardens of its kind outside Japan.
Rose Test Garden
Founded in 1917, the Rose Test Garden in Washington Park is the oldest
continuously operated public rose test garden in the US. It cultivates
several different varieties of roses and offers theme-based displays of all
such varieties. A star attraction here is the Gold Award Garden where you
should visit for a gazebo or a summerhouse.
