Denver (officially the City and County of Denver) is the most populated
municipality and the capital city of the US State of Colorado. It has
earned the nickname "Mile High City" due to its official elevation of one
mile above the sea level. This also makes Denver the highest major city in
the United State. The city is situated near High Plains, South Platte River
Valley, and foothills of Rocky Mountains. Due to its closeness to the
mountains, the city observes sudden change in weather.
