Yuma Vacation Packages & Travel Deals

Yuma is a city and seat of Yuma County in the American state of Arizona, near the US-Mexico border. It holds the Guinness Book of World Records for being the sunniest place in the world. It is situated near Colorado River, and visitors can enjoy day trips to parks and wildlife areas that lie close to the river. Birdwatchers on their Yuma vacations will enjoy the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, which is rich in migratory bird life and also offers hiking, fishing and boating facilities. A prominent transportation and military hub in late 19th century, the city is home to Arizona’s first prison (Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park) and a former regional supply depot for US Army (the Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park). Nothing delights us more than offering you a chance to saving some money on tickets. You can book your Yuma vacation packages well in advance to avoid last minute rush and inflated prices.

Yuma is situated in desert, which means that it is characterized by extreme temperatures and that’s why you should choose spring or fall season to come here. These seasons run from late February to March, and October to November.

Places of interest in Yuma
Yuma Territorial Prison

Arizona’s first prison, the Yuma Territorial Prison is a former prison in Yuma that has now doubled up to serve as a historical museum and goes by the name of Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park. As a prison, it was in operation for only 33 years after accepting its first inmate on 1 July 1876 but its number had swelled considerably to include a total of 3069 inmates before it was shut down in 1909. Some of the most gruesome offenders of 19th and 20th centuries had served their sentences in this famous prison house.

West Wetlands Park

Spread in 110 acres, the West Wetlands Park is more than half the fun in Yuma. This iconic park is situated along the Colorado River and has consistently been ranked as Yuma’s best park. It is home to a delightful combination of local flora and fauna, and it also offers it outdoor activities including fishing, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, motor boating, jet skiing and swimming.

Castle Dome Landing (or the Castle Dome City)

The Castle Dome Landing is a ghost town in the Castle Dome Mountains of Yuma County in Arizona. It is located less than an hour away from the city. It was settled as a transport depot and mining camp during early 1870s but it sadly fell into an irreversible cycle of decline and was deserted a few years later. Today it stands as a museum consisting of over 50 restored buildings, a saloon, a hotel, a mill and a blacksmith shop that together tell a spooky story of those halcyon days.
