A city in Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area in the US state in Alaska, Bettles is located on the southeast bank of the Koyukuk River. The city is located at a distance of around 120 miles from Koyukuk National Wildlife Refuge and it is the prime tourist attraction for wildlife lovers.
Koyukuk National Wildlife RefugeA conservation area spread in an area of 14,000 square kilometers in Alaska, Koyukuk National Wildlife Refuge is located within the floodplain of the Koyukuk River in a basin ranging from the Yukon River to the massive Purcell Mountains and the foothills of the Brooks Range. It is an immense area of wetlands home to waterfowl, fish, and Alaskan moose. The wooded lowlands of the refuge are home to two species of fox, wolf, bear, marten and Canadian lynx.
