Zocalo - the Constitution Square

Templo Mayor.
National Museum of Anthropology
The 50-year-old National Museum of Anthropology is a classic work of
contemporary architecture, both inside and outside. You will find old
native Indian artworks, many archaeological discoveries, lifestyle elements
and other belongings related to Native Indians in Mexico. Also, of note
here is the National Library of Anthropology (established in 1831) that
features more than 300000 rare volumes.
National Palace (Palacio Nacional)
Located to the east of Zocalo, the National Palace is a reddish tezontle
stone superstructure that flaunts a 200-meter-long façade that hosts the
residence of the Mexican President. It is built atop a former Aztec royal
palace is thus one of the oldest buildings in the city. A star attraction
here is the Freedom Bell that was first rung on September 15th, 1810 to
proclaim the War of Independence.
