Zacatecas is a city and municipality in Mexico, and the capital and largest
city of the state of Zacatecas. It is located in north-central part of
Mexico and appeared on the world map as a Spanish mining camp in the

Museo Rafael Coronel
Museo Rafael Coronel is a world-class museum in Zacatecas. It is housed in
a 16th or 17th century convent and is home to a large collection
of masks collected from different parts of the world. These masks are
segregated as per their region and use. Some of the most popular masks are
the ones that are used in Carnival and religious festivals like the
Reconquista.
Museo Toma de Zacatecas
Museo Toma de Zacatecas is a child-friendly museum in Zacatecas that
conserves the memory of a historic battle between the revolutionaries and
the then Mexican president in 1914. The revolutionaries had emerged
victorious and thus won over the city of Zacatecas. Today this museum uses
technologically advanced simulations and interactive displays to enact the
battle.
Cathedral
A classic example of Churrigueresque architecture in Mexico, the Cathedral
is an ornately carved red-stone religious superstructure built in mid-18 th century. It flaunts an attractive front and features two
beautifully-decorated towers. Its copula, reconstructed in 1836, comes a
close second in beauty to that of the Nuestra Senora de Loreto in Mexico
City.
