Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China. Located in
northern China, it is the world's second most populous city proper and most
populous capital city. The Chinese megacity is a direct derivative of the
country’s 3000-year-old history, traditional architecture, and formidable
martial might. The most important attraction in Beijing is a part of the
Great Wall of China that runs through the city. Some traditional
architectural and historical highlights here are the Forbidden City
complex, the imperial Palace, the Tiananmen Square and the National Museum
of China.
